Fourth class have won the Golden Boot for taking the most steps in the school this week! Our favourite way to keep active here in Room 15 is to dance along to Just Dance videos on YouTube. We also like getting active homework, such as to dance along to our favourite song. We are very proud of ourselves.
A couple of months ago we wrote a blog post explaining that we are taking part in the Blue Star SESE programme. If you want to read more about this have a look at our previous post. :-) We have now taken things a step further and have chosen one country to explore in depth. The country we chose is Italy.
Here we are getting into the mind of Michelangelo by lying on our backs under our tables with our pages stuck to the bottoms of our tables to do our art, just like he lay on his back to paint the Sistine Chapel:
We also learnt all about Mount Vesuvius. We then did a volcano experiment. We wrote out the materials and apparatus needed along with the method. We are experts at this as we have spent the last couple of weeks working on procedural writing. Have a look at some pictures of the experiment here:
Over the past few weeks, we have been preparing our costumes for green Halloween. This meant that our costumes had to be made from recycled materials as Scoil Mhuire is a green school. We had great fun making these costumes in school, and would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us at home. The fashion show took place on Thursday 26/10/17 and it was a huge success. Check out some of our pictures of us preparing our projects and also some of the finished products. Have a spooktacular and safe Halloween mid-term everybody!
